Civilians were executed by Ethiopian army.
The Ethiopian army killed dozens of civilians in retiliation for a lost battle a day earlier. About a month after the massacre a video surfaced which showed Ethiopian soldiers at the scene of the massacre talking about 'finishing off' survivors.
