It's being reported that Tigrayans residing in the town are being targeted and killed. Days earlier there were reports of Tigray forces shelling and of Tigrayan residents of the city attacking Afar forces. Al Jazeera interviewed survivors and they put the amount of victims to at least 278 people that lost their lives over the course of a couple of days.
